Background

The programme of the ministries of LVVN and IenW, Rijkswaterstaat and STOWA answers practical knowledge questions on salinisation of water and soil

It aims to derive threshold values for the salt tolerance of agricultural crops and natural vegetation from greenhouse, laboratory and field experiments. The results are to provide building blocks for a salt tool that is still to be developed.

  • The programme consists of five work packages.
  • WEnR (project lead), Deltares, KWR and Van Geest Ecologie carry out the work.
  • Nine water authorities, a municipality (Schouwen-Duiveland) and four provinces co-finance the programme.
